The Pew Fellows Program in Marine Conservation invites you to a symposium on marine sustainability, organized in partnership with the Laboratory of Global Fisheries, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the University of Tokyo.

Changes in fisheries management can create new opportunities for improving the sustainable use of marine resources. This symposium will explore emerging ideas and opportunities for advancing marine conservation in the context of proposed fisheries management measures, including community-based cooperative systems, increased reliance on output controls, and the introduction of individual quotas. Through a series of short presentations by Pew marine fellows and other experts, attendees will learn about options for engaging civil society to advance sustainable fisheries and other types of ocean conservation
